Career best ranking scalp for Maia, who destroys the top seed 2 & 0
Her previous career best scalp had been a 3 & 0 thrashing of the same player, also in Glasgow, in 25K qualifying back in October 2012. Talk about being someone's nemesis!

As said, will be very interesting to see how Maia juggles adult and junior tennis this year.
Nope - I'm not a bad judge of talent normally(all based on that match against Kerkhove who is a genuine WR 200)
I think she has the potential to break into the top 500 quite quickly if she can maintain that concentration during a game.
Manisha might be a more interesting match and could be tight as she is so good defensively.
Manisha is definitely underanked, but just lacks that firepower to move up to the next level - no reason why she should get back to 600-700 quite quickly
There are a few others to keep an eye on : Gabby Taylor, Emily Appleton, Serena Nash, Emily Arbuthnott, Ema Lazic, Jodie Burrage, Megan Davies - all with potential to do well on the ITF tour

Shame about the flutter.....
I've never seen Manisha. But she seems to be battler sort of player from what I've heard.
I liked Maia when I saw her play - but wasn't blown away.
Remember posting she has a very good all-round game, sum of the parts more than the parts themselves. But didn't see much out and out attack, or taking the ball early, or whatever.
But I only saw her last summer in a very long juniors match, and maybe it was a different style match.
Funnily enough, I thought her concentration that day was amazing - she could very well have lost (the other girl, overall, just had the edge) but she came through.
I guess it shows that two people can see different things on two different days.
Never seen Megan. Have seen all the rest though and have definite views about their potential.
Always great to watch junior tennis - it's what I did for a long time - can happily watch 10 year-old beginners - it drives my family wild
(lovely tweets from Gordon Reidm shouting out for Maia).
And nice photos on the tennisscotland twitter feed (including the Maia, 'five miles behind the baseline, forehand three metres over the net' classic shot Which obviously worked a treat !!!! And a super set of backhand pics).
Emily did win 6-3 6-2 a while ago as I was in the process of reporting when I lost contact with civilisation.
Re Maia's match, she was pretty good, well certainly consistent which is all she really needed to be. Al-Nabhani was long, less often short, wide and very rarely handsome. Maia looked slightly nonplussed at the end like "What was that?!" but did look pretty happy a few minutes later.
