Maia's opponent features on the ITF honours board for 2015, having won 5 tournaments...

www4.itftennis.com/procircuit/players/misc/womens-pro-circuit-leading-title-winners-per-year.aspx

(OT mini-rant follows)

Interesting that so few players from that list have actually made it into the upper echelons of the WTA - the last player to have reached a GS seeding position from that list is Delacqua, from 2011. And not one single American has ever featured on the list. Not one.

12 US players in the top 100 currently.

Bet the money men (and women) are happy with this ludicrous situation.

No probs, I'll go over to any ( hopefully not ) Manisha final set. Otherwise on Maia watch once I finish my coffee.

Emily's score is frozen so you might want to concentrate on that one

Maia has all the shots in the bag and is a huge talent, but can switch off for 2 or 3 games and all the momentum is lost. She did this at Shrewsbury when she had Lesley Kerkhove on the ropes.

Great to see Boults back - slightly more concerning is Harriet's struggles and the fact that Lucy still struggles to hold a lead.

Emily up 5-3* in the first set, some good serving getting her back from BP down in the last game.

... and breaks to take the set 6-3.

Make that 4 - 0. Is anybody watching this there? Is her opponent on one leg now or is she just too good ?
