Encouraging that in a set that she seemingly didn't serve terribly well - dragging her first serve % from 23% after 4 games to 40% at sets end - she remained competitive, and managed to win it against a decent player (admittedly one at a low ebb in her rankings), capping it in the TB with a 7th ace, to match the 7 DF.
Really turned that around nicely. The serving in the second set was statistically almost twice as good as the first.
Naomi keeps getting better, her match play and match toughness - not beating herself - is consistently winning these sorts of matches against players in her immediate areas of the rankings.
Points so far this week should see Naomi set another CH, as mentioned above, of minimum 109, and probably 108. PLus, of course, whatever else is to come!
Again, heartening stuff from Ms. Broady
