Became *3-4 but that was all there was.

Well, if Miss Boulais goes on to be a world beater, at least we can say we heard it here first

Pity, rankingwise the one point for that fine Q1 win does nothing for Em. 4 points for reaching the FQR would have been good.

To the doubles ...

She has a bit of 'pedigree', as it were - her surname reminded me of a former top 30 player from Canada (via Cambodia and HK) called Patricia Hy-Boulais, so guessing the Hy may have been a maiden name, I checked and Isabelle is indeed her daughter. The mother (career high 28) reached R4 at Wimbledon in 1996 and 1997 and the US Open QFs in 1992, as well as a doubles SF at the AO in 1987.

Em in doubles with Sawayanagi. Naomi with Rodgers.

Naomi plays Gibbs.

Naomi only missed out on a seeding by one place (8th seed Chirico was WR 110 last week, Naomi 111 ... and Chirico dropped behind Naomi today)

L32: Naomi Broady WR 112 v (6) Nicole Gibbs (USA) WR 103 (CH 84 last Mar)

Even for you, thats some brilliant detective work. I vaguely remember Hy-Boulais! Ball toss that came down with snow on it.

Thanks but it turns out theTennisTalker had already mentioned it, so I'm now ashamed that it took me so long to work it out! disbeliefwink
