Brilliant !

Well done, Naomi !

Well done, the Broadys !

Well done their coaches !

(and even if we don't all agree about the backhand but let's be grateful for indoor hard courts )

Fantastic - far and away the best player on show all week. Thoroughly deserving of the title and top 100.

I wouldn't be surprised if she becomes GB no.2 soon.

 for what that's worth, sadly

Fantastic to see Naomi make the top 100 with the biggest title of her career - who'd have thought a decade ago that ten years later, we'd have had 8 women in the WTA singles top 100!

Welcome to the top 100 Naomi. Well deserved and proved a hell of a lot of people wrong. I doubted she'd get there, now i have no doubt she can go much further.

Midland is heaven once again for the Brits, as Naomi joyously joins Hev & Bally () as winners of this title

Yay, our British number 3s can fair ( successfully! ) whack a tennis ball.

3 men in the top 100, 3 women, has to be the first time in a very long time. There weren't 3 women in the top 100 when Andy, Tim and Greg were.

Very well done, Naomi

Hey quite a lot !

Yes, it could ultimately happen partly because Hev has been dropping and has quite a lot of points to defend coming up. But Naomi has been hugely on the rise too to bring us these 3 in the top 100. And she could well continue to rise. In fact with so little to defend in the next few months, she almost certainly will.

don't get me wrong I'm over the moon that she's made it into the top 100 but it just makes it even sadder that she's left out in the cold in terms of flying the flag for Britain

This is longer than KIA guy's annual speech at the Australian Open!

Ah, got you.

Sorry, I thought you were more on about the #2 spot and kind of suggesting Naomi might be inheriting the GB #2 spot because of Hev dropping.

The playing for GB appears to remain very largely in the hands of Naomi / the Broadys and yes it is very sad.

Glad she didn't forget Fitzy at the end of the speech - he needs to take a lot of credit for the rapid rise up the rankings.

First time we've had six players in the singles top 100s for 30 years, I think - 7 (2 men and 5 women) at the end of 1985, so there must have been 6+ in early 1986 and since then, last year was the first year we'd finished with more than 4.
