If I was an analyst, the tactics to Naomi would be to slice and take the pace off the ball. Quite often Naomi tries to leather the ball and over hits it.
Anderson medical time out on right leg.

Nah, I think slicing it draws out the points and the new aggressive Naomi should just take on the ball and play to her strengths, and get her head round the fact that she will have a higher error count.

But I agree that we're all experts from afar and it's good she doesn't have us there - too many cooks spoil the broth and all that smile

I'm hoping you misread my point. Those would be an opponent's tactics to beat Naomi.

Her BH is big, but it's not clever.

Sorry, paulisi - I did misread your post - I thought that was to Naomi, not Robin. My bad.....

Although some people do think Naomi takes too much risk and should rein it in so I thought that's what you were advocating...

Some dodgy volleying, but gets through the game for 2-1*

Yes, agree with CD, this agression is the way to go. Clearly not always, but generally just bang it, and accept she'll miss at times, sometimes big.

Edit : sorry for being on slight time delay

Naomi breaks aided from deuce by an Anderson DF.
Come on!
6-7(6) 6-0 *3-1

Her backhand is huge, very flat and very difficult to read and very spectacular when it is on fire.

It is definitely 100% better than last year.

Broady with the break. I expect her to serve out the match comfortably.

I won't deny its been very big and effective quite often tonight, I just find it very difficult to love it. But yes, we agree, it's hugely improved.
