Naomi doesn't mind challenging a call to say the least, but it looked like a pretty awful one that went against her at *4-5 - at the time I thought it was clearly on the line and watching it back I'm convinced it was. Still, there were other chances Naomi missed particularly early on in the tie-break.

Who'd be a linesperson?
I thought it was clearly out

Answer: not me!

Ive counted 3 calls against Naomi where her ball was in and a couple balls from Anderson called in that were maybe out.

An awful lot of points decided on Naomi's BH - either scorching winners, or UEs.

First three games were superb from Naomi, but errors are creeping in now.

Should have consolidated the break. Naomi's backhand is superb.

Her backhand is a liability to my eyes! I can never tell where she's going with it and I'm not sure she can either. It's all over the place, but extremely powerful, I'll give you that.

anderson 's 9th game was pretty awesome. Really put the pressure on.

You're obviously a purist, Cwej, and paulisi a man of the people.

Terrific match - so many winners from both players.

Naomi's first serve just struggling a little.

Anderson seems very fit rarely hits the net with returns manages to stretch well and get shots in where Naomi is in control of the point.

That double fault was DEFINITELY out from Broady! She so often sees officials calls as wrong! The sooner she's playing on hawkeye courts the better because it stresses her out so much unnecessarily.

I think she often gets it wrong, too, and then gets WAY too bent out of shape. It's an interesting point - having the chance to play with hawkeye would do her the world of good, you're right.

If I were Anderson, I'd be slicing as much as possible...it makes Naomi uncomfortable, more often than not, and draws an error.

Entertaining match!

This is a great match! Really interesting shot selections and mixing up of play from both Players. The winner will be very deserved in the end.

Naomi consolidates. If the first serve percentages increases I'd expect it to go to a third.

Naomi's backhand is rather better than it used to be, when I used to find it hard to watch, but 'superb'? Nooo, just no!

Yes I would be slicing as well if I were Andrrson take the power offs shot Naomi is awkward down low. Also for someone so tall Naomi has yet to sort out her wayward overheads. A few line calls in here favour though and it's a healthy 3-0 lead for Naomi now second set.

I knew Anderson's inveterate string fiddling reminded me of someone, and the penny has just dropped.
Anderson has just spent 4 years at UCLA being coached by... Pete Sampras' mother!

The commentator keeps saying Broady is 6 foot 4!!! I'm sure she's no more than 6 foot 2.
