Lloyd takes the first set 6-3. He was an underdog with the bookies before the match started

Which makes sense, given the ranking difference.

Down to the wire now, 4-4, in the third

With Liam and Scott in a tie-break....

add: which Scott wins, to 5

Lloyd only one game away, but still on serve

So it's a third set tie-break, for Lloyd and Yann

Damn - Marti wins 7-4 in the tie-break.

But blinkin' close for Lloyd - against a guy who was ranked 200 in the world and, as said, is a fine player.

With all points being net pluses for Lloyd in the next 6 months, the only way is up.

NB Marti is a very controversial player - LOTS of bad blood with the fed. over there - banned from Davis Cup (effectively), talks of fights, the Fed. cheating him of money, it's been a big story.

Wiki has a reasonable synopsis for anyone who cares:

I assume you mean the Federation and not the Federer

smilesmilesmile  yes, I do - and if Roger's lawyer is listening, I'm sorry if it wasn't obvious !

Shock horror! Is that how he's paid for this latest operation? wink

No sign off the Broady result - it was about to go to one set all.

I blame Liam's shoes for the machines crashing...

I notice Liam has switched rackets from Dunlop to Head Radicals.

That's quite a change!

I myself made the switch from head to dunlop a year ago but am going back to head now. Dunlops were pretty bad tbh.

Looking good for an all GB doubles final

Dave and Dan are running away with their match.

Each to their own though isn't it, I personally use a Babolat now, tried having a go with a Wilson ProStaff and literally couldn't hit the ball! Haha

Beat me to it by 30 seconds.  Liam has just responded to my tweet to confirm his victory
