Some action from yesterday: we had a correspondent in Glasgow and he managed to get some match reports as well as interviews with the players post-match. The fill interviews will be on our podcast later today, but for now:
Not to be for Ewan but a decent effort given his lack of experience at this level. He loses 6-1 in the 3rd.
Yes, very decent effort from Ewan, I was impressed from what I saw in the second and third sets. I was watching the third set on and off from afar and it was looking very competitive and pretty good quality then I went down to the match and found he was 5-1 down. But certainly as I say seemed a good competitive last two sets in spite of the final set score.
Thanks for the onsite reports Indiana. Met Ewan when he was training in La Manga a year ago. He was here with Leon and Hilts, and was training with Charlie Broom. Both looked to have some talent.
Probably going Friday, the more Brits still about the more likely, though there will be 3 for starters over the men's and women's singles so that in itself is probably enough assuming they are spread out and they probably would go to the main court ( Court 6 ).

SF: (3) Dave Rice & Dan Smethurst CR 753 (383+370) vs Sam Barry & Peter Kobelt (IRL/USA) CR 1024 (265+759)
Somebody needs to give that bloody so-called live scoreboard a sodding great dose of industrial strength WD-40 because it's been less than reliable this week: the match between Reichelt/Massow & Barry/Kobelt must be long over (I'm typing this at 22:07), yet it's still showing Barry/Kobelt as having just won the first set by 6-2!

Sorry about tne frustrating scoreboard, SC. Have high hopes for the DR/DS team - though my recollection is that Kobelt is a good doubles player ... not sure why his ranking is so low.
