Not the same standard as yesterday, and I think Ito was tired after his bruising encounter against Tiafoe. Nevertheless, Dan beat a player ranked 40 places above him without playing his best which is very encouraging. AALLLLLLEEEEEZZ!!!!!
Sorry Kedders. But a 3am (ish) start time is too late even for me. I am such a lightweight.
And with the final tomorrow scheduled for an evening session as well, that may be my lot for Dallas this year. Will just have to hope I wake up to the right results.
Saw most of the match. First two sets Dan wasn't anywhere near the level he played earlier in the week. His serve was under pressure regularly and there were more unforced errors, but he was still way too good for Ito in the first set.
Third set Dan was outstanding and back to his best.
The one thing I have noticed this week is that he gets an awful lot of balls back in play and his return of serve has improved a lot. This will always give him a chance as he is such a good ball striker.
I said yesterday Dan would win the tournament if he maintained the levels I still think he will.
4 wins in a decent challenger field, all against players ranked higher than Dan. This week turns what was already a solid start to 2016 into a really good one
Nice win! Dan tense compared to previous games, worried how things would go at the end of the second. To be fair he fought off multiple break points and after 4 or 5 of them I began to feel as if they were a minor inconvience for him, got the felling Ito felt the same.

The first all-GB ATP Challenger singles final for nearly 11 years, since Boggo beat Mark Hilton in Nottingham in 2005 ... and the first outside the UK this century (possibly ever)!
