2 x QvQ places in the draw and a reasonable draw against a young German - avoid the top seed please.

Sorted! - got a Q vs Q place against Victoria Kan.

The impressive thing in this game for Tara is her ace count is higher than her DF count.

Even if her opponent is rubbish at returning, the DFs are still down to 2, and we're 3/4 of the way through the match.

Tara 3-0 up in 2nd set.

Well, that was just what the doctor ordered.

Nice to see that, having given the two 10ks a go (pretty successfully), Tara then went for the brave choice and opted out of the easy point options, going for the 50 and 25k - having to do qualis and a good chance of ending up with nothing. Great that it paid off - fortune favours the brave.

That is much better from Tara

Kan is an interesting case, she looked nailed on to be top 100 a couple of years ago.
Since then, there have definitely been a couple of injuries (6 months out, then flare ups of a month out every 6 months or so), and also, reportedly, pretty widespread political interference in her career; complications arising from her being a non-Russian Russian - Koryo-saram from Uzbekistan.

Either way, she was not at all rubbish 2 years ago and for Tara to work so efficiently today says something very good. Namely that her game is in the best shape it seems for a while, and if she takes the handicap of the DF out, she can win matches at this level easily.

It would be SO good to have a fit and fully firing Tara back playing a full schedule commensurate to her undoubted talent.
Good progress and may there be much more to come throughout the year

Yes should be challenging Amanda Carreras for GB4 spot in the rankings.

She's posted a video on Twitter of her practicing her serve, which also seems to combine a good taekwandoe scoring kick with her right leg.

Learning to juggle might help, though. Just 3 DFs in a match is a lot better.

Seen Tara several times over the years under-ranked definitely if she stays injury free she could be in top 150 at least far better player than Carreras

Well, that's Tara provisionally level with Amanda on 128 points for 15/02 with hopefully more to come, though looks a tough R2 match. Certainly Tara is well capable of getting back into the top 200 and beyond, though currently a long way to go. and really does need that serve consistently sorted out
