Wardy is on the challenger entries on DC week, so he is obviously not confident about getting selected for DC - mind you he is probably fourth choice singles now.
Can someone tell me what the (SR) means next to Robson's name please.
"Special ranking" - the WTA equivalent of a protected ranking on the ATP (giving it a different name just to confuse the fans is par for the course), based on a player's pre-injury ranking. They're only allowed to use it to gain entry to a limited number of tournaments.

Thanks Steven. I thought that was the likely scenario, but was looking out for a PR as you said.
Looks as though Heather is in Monterrey also but missed the MD, currently showing as 4th on the qualifying list. Hopefully a few withdrawals and she can sneak in.

Yep Hev told me her forthcoming schedule at Fed Cup time, and Monterrey was on the list.
Joss and Anna are also playing here as well as Acupalco.
The clearly least depth of any futures for the week ( 10K OR 25K ) is the Aussie 25K, going down to WR 1260 for the 18th DA, no other futures going beyond 1000, and an 8th ranked of WR 497 being much more in line with the 10Ks.
It is quite a fraternal gathering with 18/18 on the MD list being Aussies and 52/56 on the qualifying list.
I notice that the previous week's hard court 25K event is very similar in strength to this week's grass court event.
It's a very long way, yes, but opportunities there to infiltrate in the Aussie 25K series ( 4 of them in a 5 week period ) ?? ( the Canada 25K where our guys have massed has 18th as WR 579 and 8th as WR 403 and indeed the Portugal 10K, another gathering point, also has less depth at both points ).
Anyway, a jolly load of ranking points and prize money for the Aussies to carve up amongst themselves.

Looks like Freya might sneak into the main draw on the grass of Mildura as long as there aren't any SE's- I see Casey Dellacqua has entered - that's a fall from grace....

Casey has been out since October due to concussion effects after a fall, only seemingly recently returning in a Fed Cup doubles match, so I imagine is rather feeling her way back.
As WR 3 in doubles, if way behind you know who, and with two Slam RU spots last year with Yaroslava Shvedova, she's been doing very well in that sphere and thus may have rather shifting priorities anyway.

I would suppose that Casey is also keen to be reunited with Ash Barty; particularly as she cannot hope to play the Olympics with Shvedova (unless Australian immigratioon really gets a move on).
