Against a pretty damn promising youngster too. No holds barred. Love it.

I wonder if Kyle goes deep here he will pull out of Dallas so as to prepare for Memphis qualifying.

I'm not sure that is going to happen.

He needs the points and its his own fault for failing to enter Memphis on time. There is also no guarantees he would qualify anyway.

Meister it is after he dumped out McGee, the man who himself had despatched Ryan Harrison (5) by 5 & 3 in the first round, by 4-6 6-3 6-1.

Why does Kyle need the points ?

I do see that he is almost certain to drop out of he top 100 for now ( with his 115 points defense over this fortnight ) unless he wins the title this week and is defending a further 15 points next week. But there's a much bigger picture than that. I could well see him pulling out of Memphis.

So the lad's partially from four different continents?! Can't be many people who can say that.

He is a young lad and these are best of 3 set matches. If the prospect of playing 3 tournaments in 3 weeks is an issue he might want to think about another career option, not that he himself has suggested he might withdraw from anything.

If he is serious about getting to the top he needs to get fitter and spend more time on court anyway, having just watched the Murray semi final that is the benchmark of fitness he needs to be aiming for.

Don't disagree re fitness in general.

But still with qualifying next week, potentially playing every day for nearly two weeks in challengers is probably not ideal before ATP Memphis if that is any sort of priority.

Also travelling from Hawaai to Texas so the practicalities are difficult. What's the deal on SEs with Dallas being a higher level challenger?

Also he is currently down for ATP 250 Delray Beach after ATP 250 Memphis.

Just catching up after 2 days on the road. Great to see Kyle in dominant form so far this week.

You cannot get an SE for an ATP event if you go deep in a challenger.

You can get an SE for another challenger on the same continent if you aren't in the main draw

You can get an SE for an ITF event if you are playing at the same level. i.e you cannot get an SE for a 50K if you are in a 10k or a 25k
