Very solid start to the year for Joel. I am expecting him to surprise a few people this season. Too early to add him to my Top 500 candidates, but 12 months from now, that might be a different story.

Would be good to see Joel making good progress.

Currently out top ranked teenager is Josh Paris, WR 1165 on 8 points.

100% with you.

That boy has a lot of potential. And if he's not doing college, he will (presumably) be 100% committed to tennis.

I would have thought his goal would be to in the top 750 by 2106 year end, maybe higher. Top 500 should certainly be on his 'relatively' short-term list of goals.

I hope he gets there before then as we may not be around to see it otherwise. wink

You know that the average age for players reaching their prime is going up, don't you????

Joel is just a little ahead of the curve

Toby draws the top seed, Joel has a decent chance against a Dutch lad with an average record.

Tough way to start the year for Toby, but just pleased really, to see him back on court. But it is the first match of the season for BOTH players, so anything is possible, and Toby has show on several occasions that playing well, he has the game to mix it with these much higher ranked opponents. He is still on my potential Top 500 candidate list for this year, if he can stay fit.
