RE: Weeks 3-4 - Australian Open Men's Doubles

What a cracking fortnight so far for Jamie, hope he can finish the job this time.

By my quick calculations he would go to #2 in the world (!!) with the title, which would be some achievement, and reflective of his successes over the past year (welcome anyone who could verify this btw...!). Fingers crossed 2 murrays at 2 in the world...!

Think Goldenboy has just been relegated to Silverboy as Indiana takes the title wink

Perfect timing. Or, it would be, were I not at work Saturday AND Sunday, with no internet signal for my phone and our IT guys choosing the middle of the AO to block all non-business content. Sucks to be me, I might miss a nice bit of British tennis history crydisbelief

I must admit that when Jamie and John decided to get their separate ways I feared that it was a terrible mistake. I am delighted that my worries were misplaced, at least from Jamie's perspective, and lets hope he finally lands a big prize tomorrow morning.

Good luck in the final today - soares also has made the mixed final so hopefully he can do the doubles double!

Soares struggling. Broken on both his service games as they lose the first set 2-6. First serve went completely AWOL in that final game, from 40-15 up, double faulting down set point. Absolute choke.

I didn't realise that Soares and Peya never won a Slam together. They were the #2 doubles team for so long I assumed they must have won a couple.

Not the most enthralling of doubles matches. Both teams struggling on return and little net play.

Soared really struggling on serve.

Four break points saved by Nestor and Stepanek in the third game. That could prove crucial.

Soares to attempt to hold serve for the third time...

Two successive double faults from Soares and they're in trouble once again.

They manage to dig out the hold. 2-2*.

On their 8th break point the two finally get the break!
