One pair taking full advantage of a stroke of luck: the Spanish Pablos (Andújar & Carreņo) entered the draw as alternates at the expense of Big Ivo & Purav Raja, beat Albot & Chung n three sets in the first round & then the sixth seeds, Herbert & Mahut, also in three, to reach the last 16. 'Twill be interesting to see how they fare agin the unseeded Nestor & Stepanek, who took out the tenth seeds, Kubot & Matkowski, in straight sets...
The Spanish Pablos didn't advance past Nestor & Spepanek.
Also out from the bottom half are the number 2 seeds Dodig & Melo and the number 4 seeds Bopanna & Mergea, leaving (9) Pospisil & Sock as the highest seeds remaining ( and I'd think most likely to reach the final ) in the bottom half QFs.
Treat Huey might feel like a youngster in one of the QFs, Nestor (43) & Stepanek (37) vs Huey (30) & Mirnyi (38).
Meanwhile in the top half, at the L16 stage, theoretically standing in the way of Jamie+ and Dom+ are each other, then (3) Bryan & Bryan, then (1) Rojer & Tecau.
Could have worked out better, but they're still there, in it to win it.

Jamie/Bruno take the first set from Dom/Robert 6-3, much to the delight of the Brazilian commentators. Just one break in the set when Dom was broken in game 8. Dom missed three identical (and reasonably straight-forward) backhand volleys, all off the 3rd point of the rally, on a 2nd serve from the Ad court.
R3: (7) Jamie Murray & Bruno Soares (BRA) WR 29 (7+22) beat (11) Dom Inglot & Robert Lindstedt (SWE) WR 49 (23+26) 6-3 6-4
As doubles matches go, that was about as comfortable as it gets for Jamie/Bruno. It won't go down in history as one of Dom's finest hours as he struggled throughout, particularly on the return of serve.
That one break in the final set sufficed for Klaasen and Ram who won the final set 6-4. So the third seeded Bryans join the second and fourth seeds as L16 casualties. The top seeds, Rojer and Tecau, have as of now still to play their L16 match.
Anyone up watching Jamie's QF match? Tough but winnable one. Leading 5-4* first set

Soares has thrown this tiebreak away with his petulance. Where did Jamie find this clown???

For those not watching, Soares was not allowed to challenge a serve as the opposing team were putting away a volley as he said challenge. Had a big row with the umpire.
Next point, he challenges a serve when Jamie's return was basically going to be a lob winner, and the serve was bang on the line.
As he said himself to the umpire as they sat down, "I "****ed my partner up"

Great break of serve there! Some cracking returns from 40-15 behind
Score is now 6-7 *4-3

Nestor & Stepanek is some team, could easily be one of the top seeds
