Gray, I assume, should be aiming to get in the top 1000 this year. It's his first year on the adult tour, first year out of juniors, and as he hasn't gone the college route, he presumably will be devoting himself to the Pro tour. It's not going to be dead straight forward for him, he's new to adult tennis, and a bit gangly and 'young' in some ways, but he's got some good tennis and, with a bit of experience and physical maturity, will get better quickly. Top 1000 should be his short-term goal, I'd have said.

No real idea as such but he's a tallish, slightly gangly lad, rather like Tim Henman in build, with (based on seeing only one match) a good serve and a nice game, but not the best movement, or strength from his legs (looks slightly 'immature' physically, the sort who needs to grow into himself).

He got up to 120 or so in the junior rankings, which is pretty good.

I note that he's lost quite a few three set matches, which I reckon is due to stamina and physique: that will improve.

I said on the thread that I thought, best guess, that top 1000 should be his goal for the year. After that, I'm really not sure. Boys can change quickly...

I wish him luck with Marcus, and Marcus luck with him !

It'll certainly be nice for the two of them to travel together. (Don't know if it will be 'productive' but at least it will be fun!)

Is this the end of Marcus' attempt to make it on tour and move into coaching or just a short term solution?
