Max Tex (who retired v Liam) tweeted that his back is still messed up and the trip out there has been a disaster and he's on the next plane home to go and get tests done.
Wish him well.
But wonderful for Liam, and now Josh too, to be through to the second round.
(Thought people on the 2016 predictions were maybe a bit mean to Josh - not many had him in the top 10 - mind you, I couldn't squeeze Ed in and that was probably a mistake too.....would love the 'oldies' to make their mark this year).
Thats what I love to see 2 of my favourite Brits taking out seeds in a very straightforward manner.
Have to say I was quite shocked that so few forumites predicted that Milts would end the year inside the top 10 of Brits, for me he will comfortably finish inside the top 10, and I wouldn't be surprised if he ended the year inisde the top 250/200.
Real shame about Liam. I wonder if confidence at important moments is the biggest factor at the moment. He just needs a couple of good wins and I can see him back on a roll.
Liam really does not have much to defend in the first half of this year after a poor start to 2015 so maybe mix in some futures and get some points and wins on the board and try to make sure he is in position for qualifying for the remaining slams. He does seem to have a habit of dropping off in matches but he is undoubtedly good enough to be at least a very solid Challenger player and maintain a ranking inside the top 200, just needs confidence and maybe a run of luck somewhere.
