Very tight for Lisa. Upset for Dommie, beating Beth. Hope Mollie's OK.

Tipton QFs:

Lisa def. Eva Siska 4-6 7-6(4) 6-2

Georgie W def. Megan F 1-6 6-3 6-2

Eden def. Mollie 7-5 1-0 retired

Dommie C def. Beth 6-2 6-4

SFs:

Eden def. Dommie 6-7(5) 6-4 6-3

Lisa def. Georgie 6-3 6-2

Eden must be fully recovered - that's quite a lot of tennis in one day ! As for Lisa too.....

I'm really surprised at Dominique defeating Beth.

Especially since Beth bet her 4 & 1 at Surbiton in June, and her results haven't been that good since.

And they both lost to Huber at Roehampton, Beth in 3 sets, Dominique in two - results more in line with their rankings

Frankly, Dommie wasn't even at the races in Roehampton.

She lost to Lily G, really easily, a poor show, no redeeming feature at all.

(She lost to Huber at Nottingham, the week before)

Whereas Beth was in good form.

All very strange. But good for Dommie. And obviously not simply that Beth was playing badly as Dommie then went on to have a really tight match with Eden.

At Taunton this week:

QFs:

Bethany Lacey v Jizel M-S Fernandes

Sasha Hill v Jodie Lawrence Taylor

Summer Yardley v Ola Pitak

Maria Budin v Tiegan Aitken

It's a real youngsters tournament, that one. Every single one of them a junior, I believe. Go, girls !

In the event in Hull last week, a whole heap of names that I've never seen before:

SF:

(LL) Victoria Lapthorne def. (q) Amber Woffindin 6-1 6-2

(2) Meg Hopton def. (q) Katherine Barnes 7-5 6-1

Final:

(LL) Victoria Lapthorne def. (2) Meg Hopton 6-2 6-4

Congrats to 17 year-old Victoria - that's called making your LL spot pay dividends
