Well congratulations to Sean who has had a very strong end to 2016!
He has played very little junior ITF tennis, but I notice Lincolnshires relatively recent rise as a County Cup force! Not an area of the country to be under estimated, RIP Rod Temperton
Is Louth (beautiful town, cracking sausage sandwiches in the hospital canteen, if it is still there!) tennis club the new Northern tennis power house or is it getting a bit of help from sunny scunny native Hodgkin.
I presume the seeding is based on the WR points Sean has picked up since starting to playing futures events this Autumn, and to be fair he had really tough draws in the last two loosing to Danish and Lithuanian (ATP rank 230) Davis Cup players, no bagels or breadsticks mind! Hopefully he will to get to play many more through the summer after finishing school.
Beating Jack is no mean feat he is ranked in the top 100 Collegiate tennis players but based in Florida where most ITF's are heavily loaded with very good academy and collegiate players even in qualifying making ATP points very hard to come by when compared to Egypt and Turkey.
Yes, Dan and Sean have also played doubles together for Lincs who also have Joe Wholley (Utah) in their squad.
Absolutely no idea what his coaching set up is, but it does appear that Dan has given him a helping hand as well as playing for Lincs when he can. Very heartening to see players emerging outside Dunblane and the Home Counties.
