Yes, getting near time. Eggheads vs Quiz Family Robinson at not before 6 pm GMT. Should start on time since I wouldn't anticipate Flog It! overrunning.
As suggested by Bob, a "bump" post to remind people that Tuesday 5th is the night. BBC2 ratings are set to plummet significantly as my episode of Eggheads is aired at 6pm. As previously stated - look out for the ugly bald one in the green t-shirt. Can we beat the Eggheads? Only one way to find out - tune in and watch!
Great performance and unlucky with the final set of questions - finding Bayern seems much easier than distinguishing between Mali, Malaysia and Malta given how well known Bayern Munich is. Did they edit down the sudden-death finale? (another person who has been on said that their episode was heavily edited to fit the programme schedule)
Many thanks to all of you who watched, your support really does mean a great deal to me.
Think I thought I was supporting the DC team in that studio, my thumbs ups and fist pumping gestures have drawn relentless teasing from my mates in the pub tonight but on the whole it's been a great day and I feel like several birthdays have come at once even though we didn't win.
I was asked by Captain James to revise Music and Arts + Books, but neither came up. Wanted to do Sport (of course!) but Steve was already down for that. Have to admit I was panicking like mad every time they were about to reveal the next subject, hoping and praying it wouldn't be one of mine. I really felt the pressure going up against the maestros and also when our team were getting every question right, I was dreading being the first to get one wrong. I'd never make it in tennis with such a negative mindset!
Have to say all of the Eggs were great as was Jeremy, we chatted before and after the "match" and they were really down to earth and personable and not at all arrogant as you might have expected them to be given their combined brain power. In answer to DavidC - yes some editing did happen, Pat took a lot longer over his final answer (the one he got wrong) than it appeared on the screen and some of Judith's deliberations over Sumo wrestling also ended up on the cutting room floor.
Once again thanks for all your support and if anyone's thinking of doing a tv quiz themselves, I say - do it! It's great fun.
Well done on thrashing the Eggheads ... until the very final round.
As I said on Twitter, your team seemed to work very well together and I liked the way they let you play the captain's role in the final round, having not had a round to yourself, until of course your original captain led you astray!
To be fair to him, my first thought would have been that the IOC code for Malaysia is MAS too, though I also know the IOC code for Malta is MLT (the code for Mali, it turns out, is MLI) and it's a red herring anyway - few country plates match their IOC codes, not least because only a few of the former consist of more than two letters. It certainly wasn't obvious though and it must have been gutting when the lone Egghead then got a ridiculously easy question - even people who don't speak German could guess it from Bayern Munich or Bayer Motoren Werk.
Quite amusing that a question about Andy Murray came up when someone from this board was playing, even funnier that Judith had to guess the answer

Yeah, the floor manager told me I had to be the team spokesman for the last round because I hadn't done any head-to-heads.
As you say quite funny the Andy Murray question came up - very apt!
