Young Max pops up in the doubles, courtesy of a wild card, as does Joe Cooper:

R1:  (1) Tuna Altuna & Cem Ilkel (TUR/TUR) CR 934 (394+540) vs Max Benaim & Geoffrey Blancaneaux FRA) UNR  bleh
R1:  Joe Cooper & Alexander Perfilov (RUS) UNR (*) vs Gökberk Ergeneman & Berk ( biggrin) Iliescu (TUR/TUR) UNR

(*) Joe's current doubles ranking is 1325, while the Russian currently has none, though his CH is 813 in September.  Two old-timers (29 & 30 respectively) versus a 20- & an 18-year-old. wink

The winners of those two matches face one another in the quarter-final.

The Turks prove to be no berks & the Brits draw a complete blank in the doubles, too:

R1:  Gökberk Ergeneman & Berk Iliescu (TUR/TUR) UNR defeated Joe Cooper & Alexander Perfilov (RUS) UNR by 7-6(4) 3-6 [10-6] cry
