Heard he was suffering from illness in the 3rd week - but he looks like one to watch for sure

Woohoo! Bit close for comfort in the first set though! Be up to around 550 now. Been a while since we've seen that.

And moving in the right direction which is great to see.

Well done Neil.

Nearly in that magic 500 hey Bob? biggrin

Neil is going to have to wait a bit longer to get his semi under way as the first semi looks like it is going to 3 sets.

Ghorbel has had some good results recently and is clearly on form, but he has been beaten twice by Evan over the last couple of months. As for Neil, playing good players seems to bring the best out of him, so really hoping for a positive result today. No ulterior motive - honest wink

Ghorbel survives yet another monster service game with multiple deuces. Most telling stat so far is BP conversions: Ghorbel 2/2 Neil 1/8

Neil to serve *2-5

Neil holds for 3-5*

To give and idea of how tight Ghorbel's service games have been, here is another stat.

Neil : 4 services games - 19 points played

Ghorbel : 4 service games - 51 points played.

Get in there. 4 deuces and 3 BPs in that game and Neil finally takes one. We are back on serve.

Neil *4-5
