Whoops, yes, so he has.  I was forgetting that players get bugger all for qualifying for the main draw of a Futures tournament.

In fairness, the guy has won 1 match, beating a guy ranked 1500, that would have been a pretty cheap point if he'd got it. I don't think you should be getting a point for qualifying from a 10K futures.

Yes, it has always seem to me appropriate that along with the step of winning your first main draw match comes your initial ranking.

Of course, such is the way of things in random draws that that could come against a local unranked WC but I still think it's right.
