I can't quite put my finger on it, but something seems out of kilter here.

Mousa Shanan Zayed and Mubarak Shannan Zayid.

Both wild cards ranked in the 2200s.

Dear lord.

Just as yesterday, Luke is off to a flyer at 3-0*. Let's hope the final result is the same as yesterday as well.

Meanwhile however, the opposite is going on in Jonny's match. He is 0-2* down.

Don't forget Bambo beat Hong in 3 sets last week.

He arrived at Qatar with 40pts, he picked up 18pts last week and 6pts so far this week. Which puts him on 64pts and mid 500's.
Another title this week might be enough for top 500.
Bambo is down to play again next week, but is unlikely to be seeded.
Just 2pts to defend until May - top 500 is a no brainer.

Pretty much all true and good except Mr Pernickety feels obliged to point out that Luke has one point coming off this coming Monday 14/12.

So he will have 57 points on 14/12 and if he was to win the title this week would have 75 points on 21/12.

Currently there is noone actually on 75 points. WR 499 is on 76 points and WR 500 is on 74 points. So iff he wins the title it would be a bit of a wait and see what WR 500 is in 21/12 ( though meantime hopefully he would be adding more points next week for the 28/12 rankings ).

Ah, just keep winning Luke and you'll soon be top 500 whatever.

Great to see Luke having a successful couple of weeks to end the year with, possibly inspired by the DC team and in particular his former junior team-mate Kedders?

Whatever the reason let's hope he can sustain it and build on it in 2016.
