The Mexican GA has a much stronger field since moving last year from its traditional Christmas/New Year slot. Hence Katie Swan is only seeded 3, and she opened this afternoon with a comfortable victory. Jay Clarke is on court now and has won the first set 6-2 and leads 4-0 in the second - live scores at http://www.tennisticker.de/mex/mex2576/sb.html  The match is also currently being live streamed at http://www.tennisjuniortv.com/live/eng_partido_live_1.asp

Jay Clarke also made it through to the quarter finals of the doubles, but Ryan lost out.

Katie is also into the quarter finals of the doubles

Jay has already improved his points tally in the doubles and any progress in the singles will help his ranking - there is a big gap in points once he gets to the 25th ranked player

Katie has 80pts in the doubles to defend, so needs to win another round, 75pces is her lowest scorer in the singles so another win would boost her points. Sofia Kenin could end up at no.1 rank at the end of the week with Galfi not defending her title and Vondrousova not playing
