Arrived at the start of the second set for Maia Lumsden. Thought she played pretty well, she hit the best shots of the match, but perhaps didnt have the consistency of her opponent.
Probably fairly typically for a player taking her first steps on the senior circuit she is much better when she is ahead in the rally, she was very efficient at finishing off points, but she couldnt get any length on her defensive shots.
Her serving stats wont look pretty, especially in the third set when she just couldnt get one in for a while, but its a solid serve with plenty of power on both first and second serves. Think she should keep doing that and suck up a few DFs to keep her opponent on the backfoot.
She kept fighting really well for the first half of the third set, particularly from 15-40 in the fourth game, after three doubles. But the key point was at 4-2 when she had 0-15 and had scrambled really well to stay in a rally. She missed a backhand down the line, the racquet went flying, and she barely won a point after that.

As paulisi says, you cant really see the far court, so I couldnt see anything of Emma Hursts match, though it went on a bit longer than you might have imagined from the score.
Having seen his comment now, I reckon I was probably standing next to him.
The Foster vs Drew match is mostly on Manisha's racquet, with Jazzamay making a lot of balls but not that many winners. The Foster backhand looks like the key weapon, but she's not been able to pull away yet.
Strange strange match. Tara looked like she should dominate, but couldn't hold a lead.
Kept admonishing herself. She slapped herself across the face, hit her head with her racket and shouted its a miracle when she held serve in the second set.
The fact is she had all the shots in the book, but couldn't play them consistently and threw in far too many errors.
Had to leave before the start of that one, shame as I'd like to see Christie in action. She was warming up in the court beyond the Foster and Drew match and looked very good then, particularly on the forehand.
