RE: Week 45 - Challenger ($50,000) - Knoxville, TN, USA (indoor hard)

And Milts was unable to get over the line in that game, now serving to stay in the match at *5-6
Evo with a good hold from 0-30 down to go 5-2*

Milts not going down without a fight, up a mini-break at 5-2* in the TB
Evo sees 2 set points pass him by on Nguyen's serve but takes the 3rd - and with it the set - 6-2

As ever, I'm liking  Dan's point construction. He manufactures another break and with it the set.  Keep going mate!  Unless his lelvel drops horribly, he should be in the bar in less than 40 mins...

great set, Dan.

And so nice to be able at least to see half of Josh's match - and what looked like an excellent tie-break !

Having missed SPs in the 2nd set when serving at *5-4 40-15, Milts makes no mistake in the tiebreak. We are going to 3 here.

Dan takes a toilet break and is promptly broken.  "Why take a phuqing toilet break when you don't need a phuqing piisssse".  Indeed. Was lucky not to get a warning for obscenity for that.

Never seen a more absurd scoreline than Josh's.  0-6, 7-6, 06.  How many times has that happened?

Marcus due to lose all his points from his challenger exerts last year and will be close to dropping out of the top 500

Marcus lost these 18 challenger points on Monday, thus dropping from WR 413 to WR 476. He has nothing further to drop this year.

Pity, there's certainly a top 300 and more player in there.

Was just about to say that Steve! Crazy match, but can't argue with the result, one close set and two demolition jobs
Evo on serve in the decider, holding for 2-1*

Evo avenges that loss in Aptos qualifying, saving a BP to come through in 3. 6-2 2-6 6-3

Good win for Evo.
I turned on at the start of the second set and I have to say the standard was high and the American played very well, but Evo got one chance and took it.

Isn't that who Dan lost to in Aptos earlier in the year? Nice turnaround. Good result for Dan S too, but shame for Marcus - points here and there.

Edit: Just saw that thejester confirmed - teaches me not to skim!

Good to get the win in itself for Evo and hopefully more to come.

But also, although nothing to defend for a while ( next May ! ) he could do with pushing that 271 ranking up to more secure grounds as far as Aussie Open qualifying is concerned.
