Well, I'd be happy with that, too. But no harm in specifying the opposition - and I think Tiafoe/Evans would be a much more interesting match than Novikov/Evans, based on the (admittedly very little, as I dip in for the odd few minutes) that I've seen of each this week.

It's been lovely dipping in to watch Mr Evans. As others have said, his play is looking quite good indeed.

Not sure - I thought his volleys were great in the first set yesterday - or, more importantly, his choice of when to come in, and the approach shots were great, leaving quite easy volleys.

It all went a little south towards the end of the second set, service included, but I wouldn't have faulted the volleys that much.

Didn't think Jared was that amazing yesterday...... c'mon Dan !

Dan survives getting to 0-30 when serving for the set, to win four points (mainly on JD errors) to take first set 6-3

Get in! Early break for Dan after two weak backhands from JD hit the net. Played good attacking point at 30-15 to get to 30 ALL though.

Evo seals a comfortable 6-3, 6-4 win to book his place in the final.
