Well, I'd be happy with that, too. But no harm in specifying the opposition - and I think Tiafoe/Evans would be a much more interesting match than Novikov/Evans, based on the (admittedly very little, as I dip in for the odd few minutes) that I've seen of each this week.
It's been lovely dipping in to watch Mr Evans. As others have said, his play is looking quite good indeed.
Great win, but Dan really had to fight as his first serve went missing and his volleying was terrible.
His return of serve was excellent as was his back court play, but he needs to tidy up the service and volleying if he wants to progress further.
Not sure - I thought his volleys were great in the first set yesterday - or, more importantly, his choice of when to come in, and the approach shots were great, leaving quite easy volleys.
It all went a little south towards the end of the second set, service included, but I wouldn't have faulted the volleys that much.
Didn't think Jared was that amazing yesterday...... c'mon Dan !
I have said it before and I will say it again. When Evo uses his flat backhand down the line on a fairly regular basis he is twice the player than when he slices 95% of has backhands.

3-0*
And I have agreed with you before and will agree with you again......
