Yes Kyle, absolutely awesome.
Dominant on serve, taking 76% of service points and winning 100% of points behind his first serve.

I see that Ward's conqueror Garin is in the other semi-final. Should he make the final, it could provide for an interesting final in terms of seeing how Kyle fares against him.

Fantastic result. This week has gone far better than I had expected, I am pleased to say. Kyle is clearly trying to make Leon's decision for him.

Now to cap it off by winning the final.

I know Zeballos was tired, but still. Wow.

What a win - a year to the week since he reached his first Challenger final in Yokohama (the last time a Brit lost a Challenger final - to the Milkman, of course), he makes his fourth and it'll be his first Challenger final on clay.

It's also the first time this century that Brits have made 7 Challenger finals in the same year (counting Aljaz's finals from the date he started representing GB) and the first time since July 2007 (Bloomers in Wrexham and Jamie Baker in Waikoloa) that two Brits have made Challenger singles finals in the same week!

To answer Bob's question on Twitter, it's the first time for 20 years that GB has had 7 or more Challenger singles finalists or 5 winners. Back then:

Henman W 2
Wilkinson W 1 L 2
Bates W 1
MacLagan W 1
Foster L 1

There may have been more that year, I was just trying to get to 7 or more!

So if we have good runs in Montevideo and Champaign next week. You will have to look further LOL

Thanks for the info as always.

Final:  (5) Kyle Edmund WR 110 vs (8) Carlos Berlocq (ARG) WR 127 (CH = 37 in March 2012)

Hope I'm not jinxing Kyle's chances by saying he has a good chance of the title here!

Chucky must like it here though - he won the title in 2005 and 2011.

Kyle may break back into the top hundred again if he can manage a win.

"Chucky"?   The only possible response to that is vomit.gif!  wink
