To be honest I've been looking forward to tournament for weeks and would have been disappointed with anything less after playing so well in Paris
I was more cautions because I wasn't sure what shape he was going to be in. He obviously had some sort of problem post US Open and so I had my doubts as to how he would play this week.
James and Alex appear to have withdrawn from the doubles. Hopefully this is so Alex can play qualifying in Montevideo but since James has withdrawn from Montevideo it is possible that he has an injury.

Yes, it's a particularly good effort with so little recent winning or indeed match at all experience. However good he Is on clay, and if now basically fully fit and focused, this is excellent to turn up here like this with so little apparent 'rust' and generally fairly comfortably beat the players he has.

There's no "appear" about it: Demoliner & Elias have a walkover into the semi.
