Another stroke of luck for Wardy in the draw as as Dutra Silva, the seed in that section, retires in his 1st round match leaving Wardy to play a qualifier in R2.
Liking Kyle's win against someone who's been around the block on clay (admittedly with little to show for it at CH level). Liking James' win because that's the type of match he'd have lost a month or so ago. Keep going guys.
Both winnable 2nd rounds, and not at all bad really. Funny how things work out though. Kyle seeded yet arguably 2 much harder matches (on paper) than unseeded James Come on lads, let's have a GB final, a shootout for the DC squad
It's Garín, I believe. Quite a talent, although I'm surprised that he hasn't really pushed on at all in the last couple of years after his ATP debut against Lajovic and then that memorable defeat to Chardy - at just 16.
He's still a youngster! And he's qualifying and reaching the 2nd level of a Challenger ... and in the top 20 of the U20s, according to the (admittedly not always reliable) live rankings. So there's time. I remember years ago wondering what had happened to Gael Monfils, who had won everything in sight as a junior and then disappeared. Got there in the end ....
All that said, I sincerely hope he loses his next match. Sorry, Mr Garin. Nothing personal.
