Would Greg take it on with his TV commitments in the Grand Slams, which are normally scheduled just before the DC ties.
I actually think his TV commitments are exactly the reason that he WOULD take it on. He is not able to be full time coach to a player because of those commitments so DC would be the ideal fit for him. You have to think (hope) that those players playing DC will be at the Slams anyway.
Of course, all of this is wild speculation. Leon may very well choose to stay on next year and one thing is for sure - if he wants to stay on, he won't be sacked.

I wouldn't see that as any particular issue. Jim Courier does TV work in the Slams as well as captaining the US ( OK, not hugely successfully ). But not sure there's anything much more productive to be done during the Slams, and he can follow players ( own and opposition ).
I'm not really advocating Greg, just could see it, though no doubt wouldn't really encourage Andy to be too involved next year - relatively doubtful anyway.
Wonderful work by Mr Edmund - hugely impressive run, and it's so good to hear he's back to his fighting self. Do think it would be quite hard to overlook him for DC under the circumstances.
If Greg was appointed the DC captain then the person making the appointment should be taking out and shot. How big an imbecile would you have to be to appoint a captain whom you best player cannot stand?
OK. So what are the chances of the following sequence of events.
GB win the DC in Belgium
Leon steps down as DC captain with nothing more to prove - job done.
Leon becomes Kyle's full time coach.
Not impossible and not the worst outcome either.
Why would Kyle want to change his coaching set up when things seem to be going so well?
My understanding is that Kyle is currently without a permanent coach. James Trotman was fired a few weeks ago after Kyle's disappointing results in the USA Challengers. So Leon would simply be stepping into a vacant position.
Kyle has clearly been inspired playing under Leon this week
I wasn't aware of that development and while I hold no brief for Trotman it would be seem extremely unfair for him to be fired after a very goof year simply because of two tournaments where Kyle clearly had some kind of problem (physical, personal or whatever else). There may of course be deeper issues in which case such a move may have been correct.
I think Bob was really just giving a timing issue to when James Trotman was fired in saying "after" Kyle's two losses. I am not aware of anything that has suggested it was just "because of" these, to my mind, rather strange and still unexplained losses. As you suggest RJA, something(s) just wasn't right then.
So linked, but much deeper, possibly ....

Correct. I was not suggesting that Kyle parted company with his coach BECAUSE of these two results. Indeed, at the time, I was the one who suggested that ill-health was more of a possible explanation for the performances. I still think there is some credence to that theory given that Kyle then withdrew from his next two tournaments. Right now I am just happy that Kyle has regained form and fitness, and has performed so well in this last week.
James Trotman had clearly done some excellent work with Kyle as his progress is there for all to see. I don't want to speculate about the reasons for parting company as I don't think that is fair to either side.
Really really impressed with Kyle's exploits last week. Arguably his best ever tournament performance, and at a time when he was having a bit of a blip. Whether he gets the nod for the DC is another question, but he wouldn't let anyone down.
And, as icing on the cake, this gentleman was a doubles finalist, so got something for his trophy cabinet: www.atpworldtour.com/en/news/en/news/lucas-arnold-ker-2008-feature. I know we're about GB tennis players, but you can't see someone who's been through so much win and not feel happy for them!
