Beefy thanks for the link, very enjoyable and great to see Kyle in similar form to that he showed in Paris.
Despite playing relatively few tournaments on clay since stepping up from futures where he is obviously one of the best prospects on the surface, I'm sure Leon new that, Andy did having popped out to watch him win his first round match in Paris.
I wouldn't be surprised if Leon takes over coaching Kyle after the DC final.
Assuming he stays fit I can't see him not playing against Belgium who to be frank have probably played into our hands a little choosing clay. Although not Andy's best surface his game is at a different level and he is no mug, indeed underrated on it. Kyle although no where near his peak, loves playing on it and is a definitely threat in both rubbers.
Great win
Hats off to Mr Edmund, I would love to see him get to the semis next week.
OK. So what are the chances of the following sequence of events.
GB win the DC in Belgium
Leon steps down as DC captain with nothing more to prove - job done.
Leon becomes Kyle's full time coach.
Not impossible and not the worst outcome either.
Fascinating speculation, Bob, & not a sequence with which I'd disagree. Care to speculate who would the step into Leon's shoes as DC captain?
That is a tough question. If we win this year - Sorry - When we win this year, I can see Andy waving goodbye to DC unless a particular tie fits into his schedule easily, so taking the team over and filling Leon's shoes would be a very difficult task.
I could certainly see Greg Rusedski putting his name up for the job. Would that be the right move ? That's another question.

Why would Kyle want to change his coaching set up when things seem to be going so well?
My understanding is that Kyle is currently without a permanent coach. James Trotman was fired a few weeks ago after Kyle's disappointing results in the USA Challengers. So Leon would simply be stepping into a vacant position.
Kyle has clearly been inspired playing under Leon this week

I have just managed to get back on here since this morning, after a helluva day. This has cheered me up no end! Everybody else has said pretty much all there is to say, so all I can add is
The balance of the team would definitely shift if you take Andy out of the equation but I can still see him playing critical matches but its Evo, Wardy, Jamie/Dom with Kyle in time becoming the fulcrum. One of Kyles previous coaches might not be a bad idea ....
