RE: Week 45 - Challenger ($50,000+H) - Buenos Aires, Argentina (clay)

Berlocq finally opens his account, holding serve at the start of the 2nd.

That ends a run of 14 consecutive games Kyle had won from 5-5 in the 1st set against Zeballos yesterday

kyle holds, but loses another run. This time he has lost a point on 1st serve for the 1st time since the QF. 27/27 yesterday and the first 12/12 today.

Argentinian commentators are certainly impressed. Berlocq saves BP with an ace and holds.

Kyle *1-2

I wonder if this will encourage Kyle to play the SA swing post Australian open. He certainly could do some damage.

He's cracking the ball generally, very noticeably also on serve compared with these still really unexplained post US Open Challenger performances.

OK, don't get such reward on clay ( though stats not bad ) but just looks so much more intensity in the serve.

All very good to see.

Kyle breaks to lead *4-3

Also, noticed that Kyle appears more animated on court than I have seen him in the past. He looks really pumped.

His serve seems to have a certain snap too. I'm not an expert, but it seems to have improved.

This is just stunning stuff! Berlocq is no amateur and Kyle has made him look totally out of his depth.

Welcome to the DC Final Squad Kyle :D
