Week 44 - ITF ($15K) - Loughborough, UK Hard

Think Tara sent down the message that she'd rather like Emily got on with it so she could begin her 'not before 1 pm' match.

Nice selection of matches for Court 5, but not one that quite delivered everything done and dusted at one hour per match. Getting on towards 3 hours a match, yes

Ha ha, got home expecting to catch Emily's 3rd TB...but Tara has her first set 6-3 already :)

Well done Emily, grand finale :D

I had 4 possibly 5 GB girls making round 2, but it could well be 6 if Tara can finish off her opponent.

Good stuff

Now let's convert some of these R1 one pointers into 5 points for winning R2.

Very good from Freya

And in the most important business of predicting the top 10, that probably settles this year's constituent members of the top 10 since Freya has now guaranteed, like Katie Swan, finishing ahead of Cav, with Katie now just a point ahead of Freya, 51 to 50, in 9th and 10th places. And hopefully more still to come from Freya.

Being a bit less parochial, a QF win for Freya would take her to 54 points, which on current rankings would be right on the cusp of the top 500 ( WR 498 to 500 are on 55 points, WR 501 to 504 on 54 points ).

2 was the number of GB players I expected, but I was slightly disappointed that Emily didn't get closer though.

I wouldn't be surprised with two semi finalists.
