Although getting to 20 in the top 500 would be nice, and the 500-600 range is stacked with potentials to take those last two places, Im more worried that we have a big gap between Jan and Ryan at 6 and 7 and Ali Gray at 8 - no one in the 200-350 range at all. Which is challenger tour regular range. Billy drops to 350 or so in todays live ranking update as well as our number 9.
It'll most likely go back up again. Points are off but there will be quite a lot of players still to add points for the next 22/05 rankings. Similar happened in respect of the 08/05 live rankings but that actual cut off is back at 75 points.
77 and/or 78 points should almost certainly still do the business though

Essentially I agree. But I would still very much like Bob to have his parade in what is the Top 500 thread before the rain comes down. It's been a very long time in the coming.

Absolutely !
There's always going to be somewhere to rain on the parade - GB tennis is no Garden of Eden
But 20 in the top 500 would be a wonderful milestone - and yes, a LONG time coming, and an important sign that GB men's tennis has depth, and - importantly - a really fun, long-running narative that has given the board some momentum

So, go, Bob - let's get in there !
And I dont disagree. I was just commenting in that little void we have. But obviously 20 in The top 500 would be a nice landmark !

So after a few absent weeks, here's the men's singles WR for w/c 8 May.
Cameron continues to lead the chart for most points YTD, but Jan and Liam now occupy 2nd and 3rd places, and have closed the gap on the current leader. Jack is currently the player who is having the poorest start to the year vs last year, but he 'leads' this chart by the smallest of margins from Jay. In the case of Jack, he's lost GB#3 to Andy, but for Jay the impact is significantly worse, plunging this week to outside the Top500. In better news, Giles moves in the opposite direction, meaning overall there is still 17 GB players in the Top500.
Since the last graphs, Lloyd has moved from 2nd to 1st place in the most net points YTD, surplanting Julian. Marcus's net points score is now above 100, and while Jay may be having a torrid time in singles, he's having a somewhat better year in doubles, currently placing 6th in the 'good' chart. Joe and Neal continue to be miles out in front of everyone else in the 'bad' chart but still find themselves atop the GB (and WR) rankings. Likewise Jamie's losses (which place him 3rd in the chart) have yet to translate into significant falls in his WR, however Ken's not so lucky.
So we have a new leader in the net points YTD chart. Fran's back in the rankings with a bang. Back into the GB Top10 and on the cusp of regaining a Top 300 WR. In 2nd place is Jodie, who thanks to Emma's drop in rankings this week, is now on the verge of becoming GB#1. Emma loss of net points means she now currently holds runner-up position in the worst net points YTD chart. Only Harriet has a bigger negative balance. it does mean however that there are no women now in the Top100 WR.
Its nip and tuck at the top of the most net points YTD chart, with 6 players above 100 net points for the year so far. Freya continues to lead the chart, but her lead has been cut. In the corresponding chart for net points lost, it's GB's more 'senior' players who are having a hard time of it. Tara's losses means she's near to falling out of the Top 400, while Sam is similarly on the cusp of falling out of the Top200.
As indicated in Jay Clarke's recent week 19 Sweden M25 thread it's a pretty solid top 500 group for the next couple of months or so. And Jay with his week 20 Italy M25 title is now guaranteed to be top 500 into September.
On guaranteed minimum points at future dates, of our current 19 in the top 500, only Giles is at real risk of falling out of the top 500 before August.
Giles : 77 points on 19/06 drops to 73 on 26/06 though doesn't drop again until 72 on 14/08.
There are then 4 who would be due to drop down to around or below the top 500 cut-off in August, with the remaining 14 not until September at the earliest.
Kyle : 92 at 31/07 to 72 at 07/08 Aidan : 80 at 31/07 to 76 at 07/08 Dan Cox : 78 at 07/08 to 62 at 14/08 Charles : 89 at 14/08 to 74 at 21/08.
So quite a window during the summer to find 2 more for the top 500, or maybe just 1 more if Giles can pick up a few points.
So this update has a new leader in the net points YTD. Cam's drops down the chart means that Jan's great start to the year takes him top. His current WR of 177 also represents a career high. As mentioned elsewhere, achieving 20 players inside the Top500 is now tantalizingly close, with the number now at 19, up 2 from last week, thanks to George who continues to climb up the rankings and a rebound by Jay. Jay is still a long way off his career high, but George like Jan is at his best ranking ever. His rise up the rankings also means he places highest in the chart for biggest climb. Week on week, Billy's drop means the chasm between the top 7 and the rest has grown even larger
So we also have a new leader in the net points YTD chart for doubles, with Julian replacing Lloyd at the top. Week on week, Marcus, Scott, Joe and especially Ryan make notable climbs this week. However in the YTD chart for WR moves, it's the pairing of Joel and Matthew who lead the chart, up over 1000 since they first made their appearance in the doubles WR in March of this year.
