I see that there is a backlog ( presumably weather related ) and the final two rounds of qualifying are still being completed today.

With Naomi facing a qualifier she presumably won't play her R1/L32 match until Thursday, and so if winning will no doubt have to double up on one day.

She's also in the doubles, partnering Julia Boserup, and that hasn't got anywhere yet nor is it on today's schedule as it stands.

Time for some tennis, Naomi.

Her R1 singles and doubles are on Thursday's schedule.

The winner of her R1 singles also has to play R2 a couple of hours later as well.

Thursday and Naomi still hasn't started yet. Hopefully she still has time to Macon impression.

Is that how it is pronounced? I would have said she should have gone to Macon Sunday to pray for good weather.

It's pronounced May Con(according to Wiki)

Are either of these how it is pronounced ?

Certainly do hope the rain keeps off and she doesn't have to keep a Macon.

When I was a child, I always assumed the French Mâcon had a ç in it and hence was pronounced Massawn until I was on a train that stopped there and realised the c didn't have a cedilla at all!

I believe the American version is pronounced Maykon though - it always seems very silly to me when, having named places after French towns with nice-sounding names, they go and make them sound horrible no

Yes, St Louis and Boise always upset me. That said, it'd take me a while to get my head around it if the Motor City suddenly went back to "Day-twa".

Reading all these posts I think the conclusion is that my pun did work. Still terrible, but it worked...
