That set of R1 results worked out rather well :)

Interesting goings-on at Sharm:

Lisa has taken the first set 6-3 against the WR 380 player.

Emily Arb seems well on her way to winning her second round match, leading 6-2 4-0

Lisa looks like she's playing top 500 tennis, no trouble (assuming the shoulder et al are now all fine).

And Emily Arbuthnott, as mentioned before, is definitely one to look out for next year, as she starts to put a full adult pro tour together.

QF: Jazzamay Drew WR 917 v Valeriya Pogrebnyak(RUS) WR 1226
QF: Lisa Whybourn WR 1055 v Kamila Kerimbayeva(KAZ) (6) WR 464 (CH 291 Mar 14)
QF: Emily Arbuthnott WR 994 v Tereza Mihalikova(SVK) (7) WR 572

Must be half a chance for Jazzamay to make a semi final. Lisa beat the Slovakian junior in straight sets last week and Lisa is playing really well(judging by her results) so must have a chance against a Kazahkstani with a bit of a pedigree (although all her big wins were at home)

Lisa and Em won their doubles, too. 7-5 6-3

Egypt has certainly been treating the British players very nicely, men and women.

It's been a big points haul there for our players over the last few weeks, especially for the lower ranked lot.

Jazzy D has taken the first set 6-1 !!!

Her opponent (the young Russian girl, only recently turned 17) won her previous match over the 5th seed (partially) thanks to a third-set retirement.

So go Jazzamay !

Em Arb was 2-0 up but now back on serve. (If Emily happens by chance to win this one, Morgina [4] has withdrawn and Cadar [8] is straight through to the semis so that, in theory and on paper although maybe not in practice, is good news).

Lisa is 1-3 down
