Other events - week 42

In Canada, G5, Emile Hudd (born 2000) won his first round match:

R1: Emile HUDD (GBR) [7]     6-1 6-1     Dickson ZHUANG (CAN)

In Sri Lanka (G5), the two 2001 girls got drawn against seeds straight off, and posted decent scores but couldn't get the wins:

R1: Da Ye KIM (KOR) [4]     7-5 6-1     Jonea BACH (GBR)

Adithya KARUNARATNE (SRI) [7]     4-6 7-5 6-3     Jizel MATOS SEQUEIRA FERNANDES (GBR)

No luck in the G3 in Brazil for Kelly Araujo:

R1: Mariana CORREA (BRA)     6-2 6-2     Kelly ARAUJO (GBR)

Emile Hudd lost his next match in Canada.

In Sir Lanka, Jo-Jo Bach and partner have made the final of the girls' doubles so good luck to her/them

Not sure quite what happened to J0-Jo and her final.

It's marked as a general w/o for the final. But there are no winners marked, as the other semi-final had not been played. So I'm assuming the event was canceled.

Which means that Jo-Jo won really !

The other semi is on the oop for today, so the ITF may have been premature in awarding the title (one of the players has an unfinished semi and possibly singles final to complete first)

According to the ITF the Korean pair who won the delayed semi have been awarded the title against Jo-Jo and partner by w/o (worth checking if they change it tomorrow, as clearly communications between the Sri Lankan tournament and the ITF are less than perfect)
