And Lloyd gets the player he beat in last week's final four rounds earlier:

L16:  (1) Miki Jankovic (SRB) WR 346 (CH = 340 two weeks ago) vs Lloyd Glasspool WR 811

L16:  Josh Ward-Hibbert WR 731 vs (2) Yann Marti (SUI) WR 366 (CH = 200 in August last year)

It took Jankovic two hours & 44 minutes to overcome a Greek WC in three sets (two of them tie-breaks) in his first round match!

Easily forgotten. Well easily forgotten by me.

Easily forgotten by all of us ---- because he hasn't done much to remind us of it cry

But, here's to keeping the faith and hoping that Soto weave their magic.....

He was an unusual top 10 junior, if I remember correctly, because of the percentage of his points that came from doubles: at the time of his CH (10), he held the doubles championships in the Trofeo Bonfiglio (Grade A), Copa Gerdau (Grade A), Australian Open, Orange Bowl (Grade A), and had been a finalist at the Eddie Herr (Grade 1). He also had doubles QFs at Wimbledon and the Grade A Osaka Mayor's Cup. His best singles showing that year was the AO QF - on the whole he tended to go out before that in the Grade A/Grade 1 tournaments ... though (going by my usual criteria) beating a number of excellent players in a way which meant more than the mere showings themselves would indicate. But in doubles, he and Liam Broady (and, on one of those occasions, Luke Bambridge) were basically beating everyone.

After a tough one yesterday, Lloyd calmly disposes of the top seed today, for the second week in a row:

L16: Lloyd Glasspool WR 811 def. [1] Miki Jankovic (SRB) WR 346 (CH = 340 two weeks ago) 6-2 6-4

JWH lost the first set, against the 2nd seed, 3-6.
On serve in the second. Again,, looks reasonably close.

Again, brilliant result for Lloyd - looks like he has Jankovic's number.

QF: Lloyd Glasspool WR 811 v (7) Steven Diez (CAN) WR 502 (CH 191 in 2014)

Both players are on 7-match winning streaks, Diez having won a Futures event in Spain two weeks ago before taking last week off.

Huge controversy from the Greek no. 1 seed about the line calls: very animated !
But our lads should hopefully beat the French juniors - Lloyd going for the double yet again.

It looks like we have doubles champions without a racket being swung.

I'm guessing we have some bad weather over in Crete and the schedule seems to have been scrapped.
