Apparently on the BBC Message Borads i is 1pm local time so 9pm here. Andy so heavily relies on a draw which would mean he has a good chance of round 3 atleast. He will avoid any seeds in Round 1 as they all get a bye meaning whoever he plays he can beat but round 2 he could get the Fed Man.

Main draw available! http://www.atptennis.com/en/common/TrackIt.asp?file=/posting/2006/404/MDS.pdf

Andy gets a qualifier - now, is that good or bad I wonder? A good qualifier will be well used to the conditions . . .

But oh dear, Davydenko in the next round.

Davydenko in Round 2 is just cruel considering who he could have got. And Marat Safin in round 3.

Ok it is a tough draw for Andy but....

Andy has beaten Ginepri, Shrichapan, and apart from fitness would have beaten Nalbandian last summer.

The other non-seeds in his quarter of the draw he can beat on his day.

The danger players for Andy are Saffin and the 2 spaniards Ferrer and Ferrero.

Saffins on his way back so it depends which Marrat turns up. As for the big hitting spanish players they coudl undo Andy.

There are lots of ifs in this but on his day Andy is a match for any of them in his Quarter.

A semi-final appearance would be a great achievment....but not out of his reach !

Drew !

Telegraph preview:

"Calm before the storm for Murray"

Full article here:

Excerpt: As Andy Murray settles into life in the sleepy retirement resort of Indian Wells in California, where the first Masters Series event of the year starts on Friday, he could not be further removed from the bright lights and seedy tat of Las Vegas, his place of work last week.

In Las Vegas every known temptation is available 24/7, in Indian Wells it is impossible to buy a cup of coffee after 10pm because all the locals are asleep in bed.

So far Murray's stay in the United States has been profitable but low key. His success has come as an unexpected surprise to an American audience still getting to know him while the prying eyes of his British followers and critics have been a good 6,000 miles away. That will all change this week.

While the tournament may not attract many of the world's media, the main men on the ATP Tour are all headed this way. They want to take a look at the new kid on the block and see what he has learnt since winning his first title in San Jose three weeks ago.http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/main.jhtml?xml=/sport/2006/03/08/strams08.xml&sSheet=/sport/2006/03/08/ixtenn.html

Well obviously it's not the best of draws but avoiding the big names won't really do Andy any good in the long run anyway.
