Mirabelle has made the QFs for her 11th 10K in a row (i.e. ignoring the odd step up to a higher level), a streak stretching back to early June - very consistent, even if she has lost 8 of those previous 10 QFs.

I think that's the first disappointing result I can remember for ages.....
Maybe fatigue, or an injury niggle, or just that there's normally a lot more up and downs in the results' sheets of players, and Mirabelle's was 'unnaturally' steady.

Very disappointing indeed but that is tennis as I always say. Expect the unexpected. That is the first blip against lower ranked opposition as far as I can remember. Was bound to happen at some point. Could also be mental effect. As Steven pointed out that she's been in 11 consecutive QFs and made it through to semi in only two of those, she probably saw this as an opportunity for another semi and "froze" .
Didn't know she was playing doubles this week (and seeded 2). Missed the bye in R1. More steady progress from Mirabelle
If she can get to the SF she will be 615-620 and bypass a number of Brits.
Mirabelle will still be GB number 14 on Monday week with her one net additional point taking her to 33 points and Anna Brogan dropping two points to 32 points ( she will already pass Katie Boulder and Laura Deigman this coming Monday ).
With a couple of really big weeks she was looking an outside bet for season ending top 10, which would have I presume hardly been predicted.
That's now very unlikely, but in the big picture it's been good, just a pity she's not converted more of these QFs into SFs or better, with today having looked a good opportunity
