The number 1 seed of the last 2 weeks, double title winner and double conqurer of Mirabelle in the QFs, Valeriya Strakhova, is not around this week

And Mirabelle isn't even in this week's number 1 seed's quarter, but in the fouurth seed's quarter.

Go, Mirabelle !

Yeah. The top seed did a double singles and double double titles act . Good on her, unfortunate for Mirabelle. Possibilities this week with potential semi with this week's top seed. One goes, another takes over all directed at Mirabelle. Hopefully different outcome  .

Njoze looks like she's in her usual hurry to get through the match - *4-1 up and yet to lose a point on serve.

Well done, Mirabelle, let you off with not supplying your regular bakery products.

Looks like for the first time, a ranking point that won't actually effect her official total, since last week took her to a full 16 counters. But a good step towards points that will do so.

Young qualifier, Valentine Bacher, (who turned 16 a couple of months ago), has very conveniently (and profitably if you had a fiver on her ) put out the fourth seed.

This means that Mirabelle won't get a seed in her QF (assuming she beats Sandra Andriamarosoa, which shouldn't be too tricky, IMO).

"Bacher" is the girl's name not an instruction, but good if it turned out profitably

That was a big struggle in the first set, for some reason. Lots of breaks. She did well to right things and just get that first set. Made the second far easier. Well done.

Indeed. Not her usual fast start. Looks like the serve wasn't "clicking" - didn't have the "oomph" - but got it going in second.
