With all the new French rankings having come out this week, Mirabelle has made a huge jump and is now 'numeroté' which means she's in the top echelon.
She also seems to have changed clubs, although only to one about the same size down the road.
I wonder though if she has some connection to Tunisia - she seems to go there a lot.....
I love your optimism, Tennislover, and as everyone knows I've been a mega and vocal Mirabelle fan for three or four years now. But I wonder if you slightly over-exagerate her aggressive-ness.....I certainly wouldn't rate her as more aggressive than Freya, say (although Mirabelle is smaller and so it's a different style of aggression).
. Where did you see the new French rankings and club change? Would like to know if possible .
I follow both Freya and Mirabelle closely due to the way they play, which I like a lot. What is rather unique about Mirabelle amongst her generation - (from what I have been hearing), which I think is the main reason why she has been able to overcome the tough situations she has found herself in - and makes steady (rather than spectacular) progress - since her qualifying days (with no wild cards) is the combination of aggression and deliberate offensive play.
but to get into your 'espace', where you can look everyone up, you need a password etc. which you get when you take out a licence, which everyone does in September.

Mirabelle and Buzean lose out 5-10 in the MTB of their doubles.
By the way, just worth mentioning that the French licence costs 27 euros. And there are about 1.2 million licence holders. (Although a reasonable number will be under 18s and so pay a lower rate).
But any which way, it's a sizeable amount of money......

Normally, the licence is given out as part of the cost when you join a club.
But (a) there are some small clubs which only cost about 70 euros a year to join, for instance, (which incidentally gives you full playing rights, all year round, for free), and
(b) most clubs will let you just take out a licence, without actually joining, if they know you don;t live where you can use the club. So you pay the 27 euros, and that's it (it's actually a benefit to the club because they get brownie points from the federation for increasing their licence numbers - the federation doesn't get any money from the normal club membership, just the licence fees, so they want the most licence holders possible, and incentivise clubs to increase them).
So, net net, yes no real problem.
In fact, it's what I do, as I'm not much in France now and want the licence - which allows me also to play some tournaments when I'm there, as well as spy on all players on-line ! - without having to pay the full membership - the club I belong to is quite a big one and annual fees are about 200 euros.
You just need to contact a club president and ask if you can just take out a licence. Some will say no, or say you have to be a 'summer member' as well (lower cost) but someone is bound to say yes. (I was a full member of my club for a long time, so it's a bit easier for me).
