Interesting that Evan only has 9 scorers(assuming I can count correctly) and has potential to climb up the rankings with 3pts to defend this year and very little after that.
He will inevitably break into the top 800 and with little to defend climb higher.
How high can he go? He seems to have turned a corner, but based on what I saw at the Wirral, i'm not sure he is ready for top 500 just yet.
Well, his problems with his back have been such a pain in the ......... back !
It's so difficult to know the full ramifications of that, both physically and mentally.
I remember seeing him play at the NTC and posting about what a nice, clean, technically good, athletic game he had. (Impressed me more than, Toby Martin, say, who's also a nice player and good guy who deserves to do well, but just saying....)
But that was about 3 years ago now and Evan's done nothing since, mainly due to enforced time-outs with injury. And problems with funds too, I believe.
I agree, paulisi, it seems a bit premature to predict top 500 when he's only just had a breakthrough moment and we don;t know if he'll consolidate or not. (Much like Joe Salisbury, really).
But he's certainly one for Bob's list some time not too far away (although maybe not immediately), as long as he can stay fit.
This is turning into an excellent trip for Evan. As I have said before, I think it as taken him a long time to overcome the stress fractures that destroyed his 2014 season and we are only now beginning to see what he is truly capable of. Perhaps his recent change of coach and training regime have also played a part.
