I've never heard of her oppenent - which surprises me if her CH is 20. did she ever do well in a GS, or only on lower tour events?
She is a solid player all round who can cause problems to any player on her day but is prone to lapses of concentration. Has been around for a long time.

Koukalová was called Zakopalová while she was married but changed back to her maiden name last year - she had a few battles with Bally and Anne over the years.

Liking how Jo has not seemed tempted to overplay during this great run and this is just her 5th tournament starting from her Granby title in July.
OK, I there were some injury issues ( edit: or actually illness issue once I think back ? ) between Granby and Vancouver, but she then very deliberately took time off after the US Open.
Now, maybe some would have been tempted to strike more while the iron was hot and it might have worked out, but it's working out for Jo and she should be still relatively fresh going into the European indoors.
Now from these 5 tournaments so far, won 23, lost 2 ( to Petra and Venus ).
