A possible factor with Evo is that he didn't initially make the main draw cut off. He was still second alt at 12 noon ET on Friday. There was then a late withdrawal (Kyle) and 1 SE cleared which opened up two alt places. Because these places opened up after 12 noon ET they went to the two highest ranked players who signed in for qualifying and not the next two players on the entry list. If Evo had signed in for qualifying he would have made the main draw but he would have needed to have been there on Friday night. Given that he didn't withdraw from the entry list that suggests that he would have played if he had made the main draw.
Hopefully Dan is back at a tournament soon. The Davis cup call up has really stopped the momentum he was putting together. Just had a look on evo's Twitter account looks like he has been training with Andy.
Well that's good news, my impression is that Evo is a great trainer and will hit with anyone, Andy should take a lot away from it
(The bit about hitting with anyone is genuine)
I would imagine that there is a pretty good chance of Evo being in Las Vegas, of all the tournaments he is likely to withdraw from that is surely pretty low on the list.

You may in some ways be right In that Evo does seem to have a tendency to relax on his laurels and /or get distracted.
The one week in Glasgow shouldn't have had any real detrimental effect, really effecting just that week itself in which he had supposedly already withdrawn from Turkey ( and not due to any great plan ) and the following week.
In contrast getting that Davis Cup stage and maybe even more so linking up with Andy further has to surely be more in the positive camp for any guy prepared to build on the positive.
Let's hope that on this occasion Evo is such a guy, but if not that's down to Evo and his reactions rather than the Davis Cup call-up in itself.

something which would be good would be to hear from the players how they're getting on / why they've withdrawn from tournaments etc. there doesn't seem to be much of a connection with the fans really. just wondering about Kyle.

Excellent point given there's zero press coverage.
Should be marketing 101.

I completely agree - partly, it's true, from a purely selfish point of view (I'd LOVE to know what's going on with them all - pure nosiness) but, also, because, yes, how else do you have a fan base, that feels that it's involved, and engaged with the players, and that the players/authorities care what you think?
Can't help noticing that both Jonnie Gray and Dave Rice have both won a match this week thanks to a retirement.
And Alex Ward has won due to a retirement.
And JoKo got a Lucky Losers spot.
So if any other foreigners playing Brits feel that they've got a slight niggle this week, and it might be wiser to withdraw, or the gods wish to send any other helpful incident our way, this week seems to be the week, and the more the merrier.
Well, Andy is going strong - go, Andy ! - (as is Alex Ward) but yet again it seems to be a week for our lower-ranked guys.....
We've had Joe and Evan taking honours, (with Luke in the running), and Cameron (with honourable mention also to Jonny), and this week we've got a race between Lloyd, Evan, Scott, Luke and Jamie W.
But, as mentioned elsewhere by Indy, this is a gentle surge in the mass, and not a streak up the rankings by one or two, as steven was hoping for (although I'm sure he's very happy with this too!).
But we certainly have a gathering of the forces, the men are clustering nearer and nearer that magic 500 mark .....
So, when you're ready, guys, a big 'over the top' would be appreciated
Since I have just been looking at the top 1000 numbers, I might as well add here, based on the current rankings, ie. without adding points from last week's and this week's futures :
13 in the top 500 16 in the top 600 18 in the top 700 21 in the top 800 ( actually in the top 733 ) 25 in the top 900 30 in the top 1000
Great to see such positive moves outside the top 500 in recent times after such little movement over the first half of the year.
I can't help but again feel that there was maybe a malaise and general dispiriting feeling that spread among the ranks for a time after various moves by the LTA, much apparently ill communicated, but recently guys have got back to moving on again.

Maybe they are setting the the scene where they are all within reach and then 8 of them are going to hit the threshold on the same week.
