And so, in our lower-ranked guys, all eyes were on the 'unlikely' stars of Evan, and Joe and Bambo....
And now, this week, we've got to Saturday and it's Jonny and Cameron ....
Nice that it's being shared around
and the points and wins really do make a big difference at their level - maybe the spark they need just to get things rolling (not quite so for Cam, of course, as he's got his programme more mapped out with college, but the general idea is the same).
Great job. And the door is open next week for anyone else to step up and take their turn .....

It is, though what we (as in GB) really need is for one or more of them to really get the bit between their teeth and go on a very sustained run of form. I'd rather have one or two of them heading for Challenger level rankings than a dozen of them going up 100-200 places outside the top 500 then dropping back again. Of course, the more of them that start going deep in Challengers, the more likely it is that some of them will start to sustain it

But, given their ages, I'd rather have a dozen going up 100-200 places outside the top 500, AND then consolidating and keep ticking up, rather than just one making big strides and getting to 200, say.
I do think that the lack of depth has huge ramifications for British tennis.
But wouldn't it be nice if we could have both ????
Well yes, both would be perfect and going up then consolidating would be very good too. I take your point about their ages, though none of the five players mentioned are teenagers any more.

sports.opera.com/www.whitesox.com just had a Quick search for the Fairfield qualifying draw and found this - but no Evo in it. I know he was only a couple of places from making main draw. Anyone know what has happened? Where is best to check?

Kyle's absence doesn't surprise me and just adds to my fears expressed earlier this week that something is wrong with his health or fitness. Really hope I am wrong but it's not looking good.
Maybe James, Kyle and Dan have decided to go find some clay courts and get some practice in together before entering some south American tournaments to prepare for for Davis Cup....or maybe not.
Bit gutted not to get to see any of them this week. At least Liam cant meet a fellow Brit again!

Evo is down to play Las Vegas next week and then Mexico the week after while James is down to play in India for 2 weeks. The idea of either of them playing on South American clay is palpably absurd.
