This is Lizette's 1st tournament since early June.

Couldn't find a thread for Katy (apologies if I missed it):

 

R1: (3) Katy Dunne WR 296 def. Lizette Cabrera (AUS) WR 927 CH 754 in April 13, age 17, Junior WR CH 64 in Jan 13   1-6  6-1  7-5

 

Very tight third set, from the sound of it. Now gets Sally Peers, ex top 150 player, although only WR 519 no.w

NB Katy and Konig, seeded three, lost their doubles R1 in two sets.

Cabrera served for the match in the 3rd set, so that was quite an escape!

Katy won 3&4 and plays Priscilla Hon in the quarter final.

She is a very useful junior and talking of useful juniors - Galfi likely to meet the winner.

Ah good, I feared that might be a banana skin.

Always something to get R2 out of the way in 15Ks with the initial 1, 5 point awards. Hopefully quite a few more to come ...

Very nice result, Katy, against the 17-year-old junior who was JWR 13 when only just turned 16 (and very high at age 15 too, of course).

And having beaten the 17-year-old top 65 Junior too in R1, this is obviously a 17-year-old tournament for Katy - so here comes 17-year-old Galfi .....

But Galfi lost to Maia Lumsden in R1 at the Wimble Juniors, and lost to Katy Swan in Oz, (and tough match, although she won, against Emily Arb too at Roehampton) so go for it Katy !
